Getting a Garganey
The Channel Wag was still at Collingham Pits this evening, this time by the small pool in the osuht-east corner of Ferry Lane Lake. This bird's head gets paler blue-looking every time I see it... No sign of either of yesterday's two interesting female-type wags though.
Also present was a drake Garganey at the opposite end of Ferry Lane Lake; I just had time to get some record shots of it before the horses spooked it (and the other wildfowl nearby), and it flew out of sight in the very south-west corner of the pit. A Common Sand was also present.

Mons Pool was looking great, but was missing a Wood Sandpiper. And the only tern was a Common Tern...
