Black Terns at last!

I've visited Collingham on 11 days out of the last 12, and was beginning to wonder why I wan't connecting with any Black Terns, given how many have been around. Things came together tonight, however, with 2 Black Terns present on Ferry Lane Lake as I arrived at 6.30. I spent some time trying to photo them (largely unsuccessfully), with a third bird joining them during this time. All had departed when I checked on my way out of the site at 8.15pm. Elsewhere on site were single Greenshank, Dunlin and Common Sandpiper, and a cuckooing Cuckoo.

Back to last night, and I saw the Knot that had been on Mons Pool, but dipped the Arctic Terns that Mark Dawson had at about 4pm
