Back to Friday, and before spending the weekend on Herefordshire (is there a less birdy county than Herefordshire..?), I had a qucik spin round the patch. My target, as it has been for the last couple of visits, was Water Rail, and today I was rewarded with one squealing from the reedbed on the Silt Lagoon; success. Elsewhere, the Slav Grebe was still on Ferry Lane Lake, having not been reported all week (had no-one really visited since Sunday?).
So my PWC score for the patch now stands at 151 species and 190 points. Realistic additions are now very limited - maybe a Merlin? Or a Common Scoter? A Raven would be nice (and a patch tick).
